The last day of the clinic was amazing! We started of with the usual barn chores and then a fitness session led by clinic participant Marlena. My lesson was at 9:30 with Lendon. We worked on making Fiero respond quickly to my aids. If he didn’t stop when I told him to I asked with a stronger aid. I did the same thing if he didn’t go when I asked. By the end of the lesson he was super quick off my aids and really alert. Lendon had me make sure that I stayed light in my hands because that also made him lighter. Also I had to remember to have equal pressure in both reins because I tend to use my right rein too much, (which is funny, because last year at this same clinic I was using my left rein too much, now I just need to find the happy medium!) In the lateral work we worked in increasing the speed during the movement so that by the end we had a bigger trot than in the beginning. Overall it was a very successful lesson, and an awesome way to end the clinic!
